Program for Early Childhood Stimulation
(P.E.C.S)
PECS is a unique Early Stimulation Program for preschoolers, implemented in DelCampo International School. The opportunity for our students when stimulated early and in timely manner at this level is invaluable. Early learning in preschool has a natural and effective influence in the learning capacity of children, their social relationships, their physical and mental health.
The cornerstone of PECS is the coordinated and precise movement necessary to stimulate specific areas in the child´s brain. At this stage of development, the brain is biologically ready to incorporate new and valuable learning experiences for their optimal development.
PECS combines movement, creativity, music and integration of the senses to create an ideal learning environment, always taking into account the pace of development of each child.
Why is it important?
Preschool stimulation is vital for brain function of children as all aspects of their learning are enhanced: linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, physical, musical and socio-emotional.
At this stage a variety stimuli through motor exercises and skills in developmental learning provide significant achievements at an early age which will later appear on their future school life and ensuring their success.
In order to ensure age appropriate development it is important for each child's physical, sensory, balance and spatial orientation to be trained.
““Las experiencias tempranas determinan el desarrollo de la arquitectura del cerebro de un niño y proporcionan una base sólida para todo el aprendizaje futuro, el comportamiento y la salud””
This program is specifically geared for children between the ages of 2-6 and will provide them with a variety of learning experiences which are the basis for future learning.
Development Areas for Preschoolers
PECS stimulates areas of the brain in children ages 2-6 years in order to potentiate their areas of development.
PHYSICAL AND MOTOR AREA
It allows the child to control his/her body movement in the psychomotor areas: laterality, balance, spatial structure, gross motor, time and space.
Cognitive Area
The child develops their attention, concentration, memory and creativity.
EMOTIONAL AREA
Induces the child to create structures, nurture their social skills, engage in mental and social interactions encouraging them to think and be creative.
SOCIAL AREA
Implements the ability to know and face their fears and relate to others.
Develops coordination and motor skills in the child´s movement of hands and feet. Improves self-esteem with an individual goal according to the level of improvement that he/she can reach.
Improves basic motor skills: walking, balancing, body laterality and individual space.
Improves coordination skills with greater emphasis on the development and strength of the upper body through the different exercises offered: railings, swinging on rings, climbing stairs and handrails.
Everything You Love About DCS In One Room
The PECS specialized classroom is designed and equipped to the highest international standards in early learning for children in pre-school age. Every game, exercise, activity and learning experience are directed to stimulate the brain areas that control gross motor, fine motor, balance, balance, sense, emotion and thought.
NAtural Light
The center incorporates nature through large windows and a skylight located strategically to give the feeling of being outdoors which allow natural light through.
HYPOALLERGENIC CARPET
The PECS Center integrates health and comfort using hypo allergenic carpets, suitable for activities that promote early learning in preschool children.
SPACES AND ENVIRONMENT
PECS Center area is designed with large spaces that allow the child to express themselves freely, to know themselves and create social bonds with other children in a warm and safe environment.
Designed with your safety in mind
PECS program has a properly conditioned lounge to effectively control the transmission of visible light because the glass used in windows and roof helps to reduce and regulate the entry of solar heat, eliminating hot or cold spots inside.
Similarly, this infrastructure reduces incoming brightness caused by the sun, as it minimizes the penetration of ultraviolet rays, which keeps environmental conditions pleasantly adequate to achieve a better teaching program.
